Blog-noring

Hey people who read my blog! (So probably 1-2 people). It has been a crazy summer and I completely forgot about writing blog posts! I have been ignoring my blog... or as I just titled this blog, blog-noring it. So let me just tell y'all what I have been up to for the past few months.

In mid-May I finished my first year of college and boy did it go fast! I had a great freshman year, a lot of fun, a lot of mistakes, but most importantly I learned a lot about myself/ knowledge in general!

I chose to take a online summer class just to get in a few more credits. The class that I took was called: Exploring New Media; we basically read articles about blogging, face booking, and general social medias and created our own blog post and responded to our classmate's blogs. This class was A LOT OF WORK! I had so much reading to do and had to answer so many questions on that reading and I had 5 essays due all within a week of each other. And of course being the lazy student that I am I left all of the assignment until the last minute.

I got a job! I was having the hardest time getting a job. I went on (about) 10 job interviews and had them all tell me that I would be perfect for the job but they didn't want to hire me because I would leave for school in the fall and they needed more than just summer help. But a place finally took a chance on me! In the mall in my area a Vans store was opening up and I was lucky enough to get a job there! Vans sells shoes (like vans sneakers), apparel, and skateboards. I absolutely love my job and the people I work with and I am going to make the biggest effort to make sure that I do not lose my job when I am away at school.

I've been to the beach a few times this summer. My first week home I took a day trip to Sea Side Heights with a few of my friends. And yes, it is where they filmed Jersey Shore. That day I got THE WORST sun burn ever. You know how if you burn yourself with like a flat iron or stove you have a burn mark? Well the sun has left a huge burn mark on my foot/ankle/shin area and it has been 2 months and it still hasn't gone away yet! I took a day trip to Ocean City NJ at the end of june with my two friends which was perfect and then the next day I went back with my cousin/ aunt and uncle. It was fun we went on the beach, played mini golf, and had ice cream.

Also another thing that has been controlling my time is color guard practice. If you don't know, I am in my university's marching band in the color guard section. If you don't know what (or who) the color guard is, we are the people with the flags with the marching band (but this year we are going to spin saber and or rifle as well!) Every Tuesday and Saturday I have been driving an hour to my school for practice... well not every tuesday and saturday- it's getting hard to afford the gas to get there! But I have been going to most of the practices and I am excited for the new season.

What I'm up to for the rest of summer:

More color guard! I still have loads more practices to go to.

Working as much as possible. I need to work as much as possible to earn some extra money because I don't get really good hours at my job a school. Also I wanna work more to show my managers that I am really committed to my job and I am great at doing it, at least I think so. Really I just don't want them to let me go at the end of summer.

Wildwood/ Family Vacation. Next week my family and I are heading down to Wildwood for a family vacay like we do every year!

Make more videos! Lately I have been slacking on my youtube channel (youtube.com/itsmedanac). I guess it's because I feel that not may people care. I have about 30 subscribers and my videos only get around 10 views. I kind of lost touch of the reason I started this channel, not for fame or anything (well, a little fame :D ) but for me. It was something fun for me to do, also I was really lonely weekends in college so it gave me something to do to procrastinate homework. Also I lost my memory card and haven't had the time to get a new one until recently, so new video soon!

Band Camp. Yes yes yes, I am going to band camp. And I have 2 weeks between Wildwood and Band Camp to get my whole college life together because...

Move In! I move into my on-campus apartment as soon as I get back from band camp! Which is cool because that is a day or two before everyone else gets to move in!

So yes my summer has been crazy busy and I hope that all of my blog readers can appreciate that I have been working and making the most out of my summer! So thanks for reading my really long excerpt about my crazy summer and I really hope that I can start getting back into the habit of blogging again!

The Great Gatsby Review

Hello blog friends!!

So last week I went to see The Great Gatsby with my cousin Elizabeth. And let me just start off by saying OH MY GOODNESS IT WAS FANTASTIC!!!

I have never read the book so I didn't really have many expetations for the movie. Although I do plan on purchasing it now and reading it this summer. But Elizabeth read the book and asked me to go with her so I did.

Ok, review time!

I first want to say that the soundtrack was absolutely wonderful! It was cool how they used modern songs but put of a retro twist on them. I have Beyonce feat. Andre 3000's cover of Back to Black- originally done by Amy Winehouse- on repeat for the past week. Also another one of my favorite artist has a song on the soundtrack as well, Lana Del Rey. I just love her voice and her style just really fit in well with movie and with the soundtrack as a whole.

Now onto the movie. As I said before I have never read the book, or even heard about the plot line for that matter, so I had no idea what I was getting myself into. As far as plot goes it is a twist on a typical dilemma of love. Gatsby once loved Daisy but through a series of unfortunate timing issues they spend 5 years apart and Daisy marries a wealthy man. Now 5 years fast forward Daisy's cousin moves into the house next to Gatsby and Gatsby asks for his help to win Daisy's heart back. Now Daisy and Gatsby partake in an affair when Gatsby asks Daisy to choose him over her husband. Daisy is confused and does not know what she wants. I don't want to ruin the ending for you but it is very shocking!

I would highly recommend for everyone to see this even if you haven't read the book! It is different than any other love story that has been done before with a soundtrack to die for. It is a very long movie- somewhat over 2 hours- but you will never be bored through out the movie or wishing that it would go faster. Honestly I am going to see it again (late mother's day gift, final exams made me put my plans on hold) and I will be counting down the days until the DVD comes out!

Que Bella Face Mask Review

Hey there internet! I haven't made a blog post in ages so here's a little something that i have been absolutely LOVING as of very recently!!

This is the que bella relaxing aromatherapy face mask! It's a clay mask that smells of lavender.

Being at college it is very hard to have a proper pamper evening, considering I don't have a bath tub and I share a bathroom with 15 other girls. So today I went to target and picked up this que bella mask for $1.99.

This mask is absolutely lovely! It smells so nice and it is very refreshing. Before you put it on just moisten your skin with warm water and then apply the mask and leave it on for about 15 minutes. Wash it off with warm water and voila! your skin is left feeling absolutely wonderful!

After taking it off I found my skin to be so much smoother than I expected and my pores were noticeably smaller! Also I was hesitant to get this at first because the packaging appears to be small and I thought $1.99 was a bit steep for a one-time-use only product. But as it turns out I didn't finish the entire packet and I think I might get 1-2 more uses out of it!

To sum up: I really enjoyed this product and look forward to try out more que bella products!

Sorry I haven't been blogging recently (not really sure how many people actually read this blog) but by writing this I have realized how much I really miss keep up with my blog. So I will make an effort to post more updates and things. I have just another week and a half left of college and that's kind of freaking me out. Freshman year is almost over and I've absolutely loved college, but I guess I'll make another post on that. With finals starting next week I don't know when I will have my next update, hopefully in 2 weeks or less.

Thanks so much for reading lovelies!!

Favorite Lush Products

I am a HUGE fan of Lush Cosmetics and I thought it would be a good idea to review some of my favorite Lush products!

As far as face masks go I absolutely love the Cupcake face mask! It smells like chocolate deliciousness! But the scent is really really strong so make sure you have a window open or something.
Another all-time favorite of mine is the ocean salt. **Note if you do accidentally get this in your mouth it taste REALLY BAD!! But then again I am not a big fan of avocado, let alone salted avoacado. But as a scrub this is absolutely perfect! I personally only use this on my face but that is because I don't want to use it all because it is rather expensive.
My last major favorite is the lip scrub. I have only tried bubble gum but I am so excited to try the other ones. It taste so good and leaves my lips feeling super soft!

Butter London Nail Lacquers

So I have heard such wonderful things about the Butter London Nail Lacquers so I just HAD TO TRY THEM!! I got two colors: Knackered which is the purpley color and Slapper which is the teal color. Butter London is a huge commitment because they sell in the US for $15 which is very over- priced for nail polishes. In my opinion, they are worth it if you want to treat yourself to a high end nail polish or you are looking for more vibrant, long- lasting colors. You can get these colors and the rest of the Butter London collection at your local Macy's.

This is the Knackered Color. Usually I get very frustrated with nail polishes because they barely last 2 days. I had Knackered on for 5 days without a top coat and there was barely any chippage!

This is the Slapper color. I just put this on today and I absolutely love it! It is such a beautiful bright color and I am so happy that I bought it!

Maroon 5 Concert!

On February 23, 2013 I went to the Maroon 5 concert in East Rutherford NJ at Izod center with my friend Steph! Owl City and Neon Trees opened up for Maroon 5. The concert was so wonderful all 3 bands did an AMAZING job!! They all had really cool graphic backgrounds that were just so pretty to look and and the lights were really cool. I just wanted to share so pictures, so here are my pictures from the concert!

Subscribe to youtube.com/itsmedanac if you want to see more of the concert because next week I will probably have clips from the night uploaded!
